Change the default installation location of some software

introduction

When we install software on a daily basis, we often encounter something that does not allow us to choose the installation location, and installs directly to the default location of the system
. For patients with obsessive-compulsive disorder, this is simply torment! Bad news! Extremely uncomfortable!
Here is the workaround:

Solution

  1. Open the Registry Editor (regedit), shortcut key: win + r --> enter regedit --> click OK or press Enter

  2. Input path: Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion

Enter the path and press Enter to see the default address of the system. Copy and backup this path first, and then change it to the path you want to install.
You can wait for the software to be installed to be installed before changing it back.

Precautions

Some software is installed to the c drive by default, which may be due to software compatibility and permission issues. If there is a problem when using the software, you can change back to the default path and try to reinstall the software to the default c drive path.
