Ubuntu space is insufficient, how to expand (super detailed explanation)

1. Hard disk operation steps

Recently, I found that Ubuntu space is insufficient, how to expand it?

Step 1: Click [Hard Disk]

Step 2: Click [Extension]

Step 3: Modify [Maximum disk capacity size]

Choose a size that you think is more appropriate. At this time, there are only partitions on the Ubuntu system, and the capacity has not been expanded to the memory.

2. Ubuntu command operation: install partition management tools

Step 1: Open the partition management tool

  • Use the command to install the partition management tool gparted:
sudo apt-get install gparted
  • Start the partition management tool with the command
sudo gparted

It can be seen that the unallocated is 130GiB.

Step 2: Right click [linux-swap]

Open the software and delete the linux-swap and extend partitions. Otherwise, the size of the sda1 primary partition cannot be reset.

 Remove extended, linux-swap.

Step 3: Right click [/dev/sda1]

 Pull to resize:

After resetting the size of sda1, you can resize the /dev/sda1 disk at this time.

Then create a new extend partition again, and then create a swap partition under the extend partition, click the green check mark above to save.

 3. Partition result display
