Euro-NCAP 2030 Vision

Every five years, Euro NCAP brings together stakeholders to examine the current state of automotive technology, anticipate possible challenges in the years ahead, and identify where future opportunities lie. The outcome of the discussions was the organization's future direction and a clear vision for the future: Euro NCAP Vision 2030.

In early 2020, Euro NCAP began developing a new set of strategic objectives, intending to publish its Vision 2030 the following year. Like many others, its initial plans were disrupted by the global pandemic, thus limiting the ability to engage with industry and other stakeholders and requiring a reassessment of initially identified priorities. Despite these challenges, the Euro NCAP team came up with ideas and was able to engage in active discussions face-to-face with a range of players including car manufacturers, suppliers, associations and research consortia. These meetings provided invaluable feedback and enabled a better understanding of the challenges ahead and the way forward.

It is hoped that this report will serve as a useful guide for the future development and activities of European consumer safety programs and will serve as a valuable reference for the automotive industry and other interested players.

We would like to sincerely thank all departments who provided input on this outcome report.

It has been 25 years since Euro NCAP began its work, providing consumers with information on the safety of new cars and acting as a catalyst for continuous improvements in the safety of passenger cars according to the principles of "Vision Zero". This goal remains at the heart of Euro NCAP's strategy to this day. This year, the 25th anniversary of Euro NCAP, two new members have joined the association and a record number of cars have been rated, with many scoring top marks in the latest tests, whose standards are even tougher .

These achievements are a testament to the program's enduring success and relevance, and to the automotive industry's continued efforts to deliver safer vehicles to the marketplace.
