Altium Designer is one of the commonly used tools for drawing PCBs. For the aesthetics of PCBs, we can view the drawn PCBs in 3D. But before that, a 3D model of each component needs to be prepared.
1. Download the 3D format model
http://www.3dcontentcentral.cn Of course, you must first register an account.
Enter the device you want to find in the search bar.
The model format is STEP AP214, click to download.
So far, we have obtained the device model in .step format.
2. Create a 3D package library in Altium Designer.
Double-click the common pcblib library file, and the AD system will automatically open the PCB library editor, as shown in the figure below: Open a common 2D package.
Click Place in the menu bar - Extruded 3D Body
Set the range of 3D by marquee selection, and the purple line frame is the 3D position.
