Recently completed the design and development of the first version of the Dzz task board, and recorded the design ideas and completion.

Dzz task board is an application in the team collaboration suite in DzzOffice, it needs to be installed in DzzOffice to use.

The main interface needs to be able to create task boards quickly and easily. The management function needs to be able to designate people to create task boards and all people can create task boards. Members can view all public tasks of the enterprise in the public task board. And you can follow and automatically get the progress of some tasks. The archiving task board can only perform query but not edit operations. The archived task board can be restored to continue execution.

The design goal of the Dzz task board needs to be flexibly organized and displayed through various forms of tasks, so that different types of tasks and usage requirements in actual work can be easily and intuitively reflected. So it will contain different display methods, such as list (imitation of common various task tools, displayed in the form of vertical list), kanban (imitation of trello kanban form, intuitive display of organizational process tasks) , tree (for tasks level display), mind map (intuitively reflecting the display form of ideas), etc. The first version of the task board required two ways to complete the list and the Kanban board.

The list form is quick and easy to organize and create tasks for personal tasks.

 

The Kanban format is more intuitive for sorting out the process.

Various presentation forms can be selected when creating the task board, or can be modified at any time as needed after the project task starts. At the same time, the task version can set public and private permissions, and the public task board, all personnel of the company can view and follow in the public task board list. The private task board can only be used by collaborative members and following members added by the task board creator.

When creating a task board and editing a task board, you need to choose some color icons for the personalized display of the task board home page.

Task version member management, you can set the permissions of members, administrators can fully control the task board. Collaboration members can only perform related operations on tasks. Follow members can participate in discussions and get the latest news of tasks.

Task dynamics, all dynamic records of tasks can also be filtered according to personnel.

Statistical report, statistical task completion, working hours completion, budget completion. You can filter by member, monthly, weekly, and daily reports.

Summary of some problems to be improved in development

There are many detailed functions of tasks, such as personnel assignment, budget settings, working hours settings, personnel exchanges in specific tasks, and attachment calls. In order to achieve the goal of simplicity and ease of use in the correlation distance of each link, it is necessary to further obtain the problems and needs encountered by users in actual use for further optimization.

The operation and use experience under the large data volume of the task board, such as the drag experience effect of the task board when there are more than 1,000 tasks in a single task board, and the lower data reading efficiency need to be optimized. At this stage, there are no obvious problems with hundreds of pieces of data, and more than a thousand tasks will feel slightly slower. Can not achieve the task board as a bottom application in DzzOffice, the goal of combining with the form entry of large data volume in the future.

The task board and specific single tasks need to be combined with other applications in DzzOffice, such as quoting in the message center (Weibo), and discussing with people outside the task. It can be used in other organization tools for organization, such as department desktops, shared folders, and it is convenient to organize a series of related content together as needed. Such as flexible reorganization of project-related documents, collections (knowledge base), atlas discussion boards, etc.
