Debian 9 LTS End of Life

Debian 9 "stretch" LTS has reached the end of its life cycle and official technical support for it has ended .

 

Debian 9 was first released on June 17, 2017 , and reached its end of life on July 1, 2022 after receiving 5 years of official technical support . This means that the Debian team will no longer provide any security updates for Debian 9, and some packages will be supported by third parties (commercial services), see Extended LTS for details .

The Debian LTS team is preparing to transition to Debian 10 "buster", the last update for buster will be released in July. Debian 10, on the other hand, will receive five years of long-term support after its initial release, ending on June 30, 2024.

The Debian LTS team will announce the supported architectures for Debian 10 at a later date.
