In the Juno and Mars versions of Eclipse today, an error occurred when going to execute Maven -> Update Project:
Errors occurred during the build. Errors running builder 'Maven Project Builder' on project 'xxx'.
as well as
java.lang.NullPointerException
Errors running builder 'Maven Project Builder' on project 'xxx'.

After investigation, it is found that the reason is that the two eclipse versions already have the m2e plug-in, and I just installed the m2e plug-in myself, which is caused by the conflict. In eclipse's Help -> Install Software, click What is already installed? as shown in the figure below to delete the installed m2e plug-in.
