RedHat Linux change root user's password

1. During the installation process of the Linux system where Little Red Riding Hood is installed in the virtual environment, there is only an interface for setting the ordinary user password. After the ordinary user logs in, the user authority is too low and it is inconvenient to use, so open the search for root user authority the process of.

 

In the startup system interface, as shown in the figure below, press enter to enter the interface as shown below:

 

 

2. Follow the prompts, press 'e' to enter the startup item editing page, and select the second item, the interface is as follows:

 

 

3. Press e again to start editing, then add "/init 1" afterward, and then press the enter key as shown below:

 

 

4. After editing, press enter to return to the list interface

 

5. Press the b key to enter the restart. After the restart is completed, it will enter the single-user startup mode, as shown in the following figure:

 

 

 

6. After the startup is completed, a line similar to "sh-3.2#" indicates that the startup is completed. Enter the command: passwd root to edit the root user password

 

 

 

7. After editing the root password, enter reboot and restart ok.
