Hard disk mount 1. View the data disk Before partitioning and formatting the data disk, use the "
df -lh
" command, you cannot see the data disk, you can use the "fdisk -l" command to view
Check that the newly added hard disk is /dev/xvdb: 21.5 GB
Hard disk mount 2: Format the unused disk. Before operating the data drive letter, please confirm whether the disk has been used. If there is important data, please operate with caution to avoid data loss and unnecessary trouble. The specific formatting command is: mkfs.ext3 /dev/xvdb , that is, it is being formatted. At this time, please wait patiently for the formatting to complete (it takes a long time).
Hard disk mounting 3: Mount the formatted disk to the hard disk. Before mounting the hard disk, create a mount point on the server that needs to be mounted. For example, you can create a www directory in the root directory. By default, the command to jump to the root directory is: cd .. The command to create a directory is: mkdir /www The hard disk is mounted to the www directory,
Hard disk mount command: mount /dev/xvdb /www/ ,
Modify fstab so that the hard disk will be automatically mounted when the system starts up, add partition information and use the command "echo '/dev/xvdb /www ext3 defaults 0 0' >> /etc/fstab" (without quotation marks) to write the new partition information.
Hard disk mount 4: Execute: init 6 to gracefully restart the server.
Hard disk mount 5: After restarting the server, enter the command: df -lh to check whether the second disk is properly mounted. If the hard disk is mounted normally, you will see that the second disk is mounted.
