9 Essential Chrome Security Extensions

For us coders, the Chrome browser is essential. We dig out to find information, and the front-end apes use the Chrome browser to debug and debug the code. It is very convenient to use the Chrome browser.

From managing tabs to boosting productivity, Chrome has a ton of handy extensions to support users. For me, Chrome manages my financial accounts and sensitive data. To keep all this information safe, there are several Chrome security extensions I can take advantage of, which are definitely helpful.

I'm going to share my experience with Chrome security extensions , I've jotted down 9 of the best and essential Chrome extensions that can help you protect your browser and all your sensitive information . Let's take a look~~~

1. Avast Online Security

This is my favorite Chrome extension for overall security while surfing the web. I personally like its phishing attack protection, which automatically scans key elements of web pages to detect if a page is official or fake, and warns you immediately. It also automatically corrects errors in URLs to make sure you don't end up on fake sites.

Avast Online Security uses a community rating system to evaluate websites and help you detect dangerous websites. Among other things, it blocks tracking cookies that track your activity for analysis.

2. HTTPS Everywhere

An encrypted connection (HTTPS) ensures that no one can monitor your activity or steal your data. Not all websites support HTTPS connections, and that's what HTTPS Everywhere does. It's a Chrome extension that tries to connect to HTTPS versions of websites whenever possible.

This allows you to be redirected to an HTTPS connection if you receive an insecure HTTP connection by default . Just install the extension and it will start working.

3. Ghostery

If you're concerned about your online privacy , or want to get rid of trackers that can slow down your browsing, Ghostery is definitely for you. It basically gives you full control over the tracker and lets you decide to block or unblock.

It lists all types of trackers in the settings , from where they can be blocked/unblocked individually. However, you can also click the Ghostery extension button while browsing the site to view its trackers and disable them if needed.

I also really like their tracker categories, such as advertising, analytics, and social media, etc., which will allow you to block specific types of tracking.

4. Blur

A password manager is required to ensure that all login credentials remain secure. While there are many password management tools available online, I found Blur to be the most secure because of its added security features. It's perfect for saving and managing your online passwords in an encrypted environment.

It can also block your credit card and billing information from shopping sites. Obscure Tracking Protection blocks all types of trackers. Interestingly, it also blocks trackers that don't rely on cookies, making it a better option than unsafe browsing.

5. WOT:Web of Trust

Similar to Avast Online Security, Web of Trust also uses a community rating system. Users can add review and rating sites to help other users stay safe online. It will automatically warn you if a website is scammy or contains some kind of malware. These sites are rated for safety and child safety standards.

Best of all, if there are no ratings for a specific site, you can also ask to see it. Once asked, community members will give you insight into the site if they have any experience.
