Solution Overview
Alibaba Cloud provides three migration solutions. These three schemes can be used independently or in combination to meet different migration scenarios.
Mixed installation and mixed access solution
ClassicLink solution
Single ECS migration solution
• Mixed installation and mixed access solution
Mixed installation and mixed access solution is a smooth system migration solution, that is, users create cloud product instances such as ECS in the VPC network, and then use these Deploy business systems on ECSs, add these ECSs to existing business systems, and then take the ECSs of the classic network offline to complete the smooth migration of systems to VPCs. After all systems are migrated to the VPC, all cloud resources in the classic network are released to complete the migration from the classic network to the VPC.
Mixed installation: that is, load balancing SLB mixed installation, that is, a load balancing instance can be attached to both classic network and VPC type ECS
Mixed access: DB series products such as ApsaraDB for RDS and cloud products such as object storage OSS support mixed access, that is, support simultaneous access Accessed by ECS in classic and private networks.
Note:
This solution can meet the migration requirements of most systems, but cannot meet the system migration requirements of classic network ECS and private network ECS private network communication.
In the hybrid access solution, the classic network ECS and VPC ECS need to use different access domain names, one is the classic network private network access domain name, and the other is the private network access domain name.
• ClassicLink solution
The ClassicLink solution allows users to link classic network ECSs to a VPC, so as to realize direct private network communication between classic network ECSs and VPC ECSs. When using the ClassLink solution, you need to pay attention to the following points:
The classic network ECS that has been linked to the VPC can access all resources in the VPC, but the ECS in the VPC can only access the linked classic network ECS and cannot access the unlinked classic network ECS. , and cannot access other cloud products within the classic network.
If the network segment of the VPC to be linked to is 10.0.0.0/8, the network segment of the switch that uses ClassicLink to communicate with the classic network ECS must be 10.111.0.0/16.
If the network segment of the VPC to be linked to is 192.168.0.0/16, you need to apply through a work order and add a route to this network segment in the classic network ECS.
• Single-ECS migration solution
This solution allows users to directly migrate classic network ECSs to VPCs on private networks (ECS needs to be restarted). Users only need to make an appointment for migration on the ECS console. The following points should be noted when using the single-ECS migration solution:
When using the single-ECS migration solution, please note: The
classic network series I type instance is not currently supported for migration.
The instance needs to be restarted during the migration process, please pay attention to the impact on the system.
Currently using this solution, the public and private IP addresses of ECS will change. We are working hard to support the migration of the same public IP.
