Differences between various releases

Alpha : It is an internal beta version, generally not released to the outside world, there will be many bugs. Generally only used by testers.

Beta : It is also a beta version, and new functions will always be added to the version at this stage. Launched after the Alpha version.

RC : (Release Candidate) As the name suggests! It is a candidate version when used in software. The system platform is the release candidate version. The RC version will not add new functions, mainly focusing on debugging.

GA : General Availability, the officially released version, in foreign countries, GA is used to describe the release version.

RTM : (Release to Manufacture) is a version for a large number of tablets for factories, the content is the same as the official version, but the RTM version also has a limited and evaluation version. But the main program code of the official version is the same.

OEM: It is sold to computer manufacturers along with the computer, that is, the random version. It can only be shipped with the machine, not retail. Only fresh installs, not upgrades from older operating systems. The packaging is not as elegant as the retail version, usually only one CD and manual (authorization).

RVL : It claims to be the official version, but in fact RVL is not the name of the version at all. It is cracked from the Chinese version/English version of the document.

EVAL : The EVAL version circulating on the Internet is similar to the "evaluation version", and there is no difference in function from the retail version.

RTL : Retail (retail version) is the real official version, and the retail version is officially on the shelves. There is a eula.txt in the i386 folder of the installation disk, and there is a line of EULAID at the end, which is your version. For example, the official version of Simplified Chinese is EULAID: WX.4_PRO_RTL_CN, and the official version of Traditional Chinese is WX.4_PRO_RTL_TW. Among them: If it is WX. at the beginning of the official version, WB. at the beginning is the beta version. _PRE stands for Home Edition; _PRO stands for Professional Edition.

α, β, λ are often used to represent the three stages in the software testing process. α is the first stage, which is generally only used for internal testing; β is the second stage, which has eliminated most of the imperfections in the software. However, there may still be defects and loopholes, which are generally only provided to specific user groups for testing; issued.
