The cloud server ECS fully launched the exclusive server family in 2016, providing better SLA, stronger bandwidth, and more stable computing power. It is very suitable for use in serious enterprise scenarios with high requirements for business stability, and effectively guarantees the performance indicators of core servers. The main exclusive specifications include:
- General-purpose (sn1): The ratio of processor to memory resources is 1:2, with a high proportion of computing resources, suitable for web front-end servers, data analysis, batch computing, video encoding, high-performance scientific and engineering applications
- Computational (sn2): The ratio of processor to memory resources is 1:4, with balanced computing, memory, and network resources, suitable for enterprise-level applications of various types and scales, small and medium-sized database systems, caches, and search cluster computing Cluster, memory-dependent data processing.
- In-memory (se1) processor and memory ratio of 1:8, high memory resource ratio, suitable for high-performance databases, in-memory databases, data analysis and mining, distributed memory cache, Hadoop, Spark clusters and other enterprise large memory Demand applications and other IO-intensive specifications.
- sn1ne, sn2ne, and se1ne are three exclusive instances with stronger network performance based on sn1, sn2, and se1.

The ECS family of cloud servers has grown rapidly in the past 6 years. The specification family from the first generation, the second generation to the third generation can no longer reflect the specific model differences and more clearly describe the corresponding usage scenarios. We renamed the family matrix of cloud servers in June 2017, and divided them into two large families: enterprise-level and entry-level. In the past year, we have made full use of the technology and scale dividends of cloud computing, and reduced the price of exclusive cloud servers many times. At present, the price gap between entry-level and ordinary cloud servers is getting smaller and smaller. In order to better support enterprise customers' specification migration, we have opened the upgrade and configuration of VPC-type entry-type to enterprise-type instances for the entire network of domestic users. An upgrade to the classic network is in development and will go live at a later date.
For all VPC types, IO-optimized starter instances can be upgraded if sufficient inventory is available in the corresponding Availability Zone. The currently supported specification groups are as follows:
- Series 1 needs to be an IO-optimized VPC instance: c1,c2,m1,m2,s1,s2,s3,t1 => sn1, sn2, se1, sn1ne, sn2ne, se1ne, c4, cm4, ce4
- Non-series 1 vpc instance specification groups include: n1,n2,e3,n4,mn4,xn4,e4 => sn1, sn2, se1, sn1ne, sn2ne, se1ne, c4, cm4, ce4
You only need to select an instance with a monthly subscription in the console, select -> Upgrading and Upgrading -> Upgrade Configuration -> Payment Order, and restart the ECS to complete the upgrade from the entry-level ECS to the enterprise-based ECS.
