The importance of focus
The difference between being successful and being very successful is in one word: focus; it's something Buffett and Bill Gates share.
What is focus?
Focus does not mean short-sighted, but requires you to use a broader perspective to understand what you are doing now and why you are doing it. Focusing also doesn't mean rigidly repeating one thing over a long period of time; in fact, to do big things, you have to make knowing iterations and corrections based on lessons learned.
Focus on the following areas
- Aspire to be long (instead of always aspire)
- Refine actions based on goals
- Consistent collection of information and data
- Feedback-based student goals
The advantage of focus
- more execution
- stronger learning ability
- progress faster
- more confident
- More valuable
Why it's hard to focus
- Make a Choice: Determine Your Focus
- Consistent: Stick to one focus to do things
- Knowing: When to End the Current Focus
