There are two installation methods, one is online installation, which is more convenient but takes a long time, and the other is offline installation, which is more complicated but less time-consuming. Please see the detailed steps below.
Method 1: Online installation
1: Open the eclipse menu Help > Eclise Marketplace
2: Open the "Popular" tab, then pull down the scroll bar, find SpringToolSuite, and click the "Install" button.
3. Open the dialog box, you need to load some content, and then all the checkboxes will be automatically selected, click the button "Confirm" directly
4. Then start the long installation process, a dialog box may pop up in the middle, click OK according to the prompt. Since it is connected to a foreign website to download, it takes a long time, and the progress bar can also be minimized to do other work.
Method 2: Offline installation
1. Find the URL: http://spring.io/tools/sts/all/, and find "Update Site Archives", as shown below, and select the specified version to download. After the download is complete, unzip it and use it in the next steps.
2. Open the Eclispe menu Help>Install New SoftWear
3. In the opened dialog box, click "Add" to pop up the Add repository dialog box, then click the "Local" button, then select the directory you just unzipped in the opened resource manager, and click OK.
4. Then it will show
No matter which of the above methods is used, restart Eclipse after the installation is complete, and you can see the Spring options in the new project.
