Today, I debugged the WIM2VHD script on the file server of the lab. I entered diskpart as usual, created a new VHD file as a vdisk, and then selected the index where the disk is located. After cleaning it, I suddenly found that something was wrong. I thought I chose a newly created VHD, but in fact I chose a 12TB MD1000 physical hard disk storage. So 12TB of data evaporated instantly. I have never sought merits, but I have never failed, and my reputation was ruined by such a small script bug, and it was a RAID 6 hard disk that was destroyed. Fortunately, I found TestDisk on Google, and the recovery process is recorded below, so that it can be used next time when the same mistakes are repeated.
First, according to the description of diskpart clean in Microsoft's documentation http://support.microsoft.com/kb/300415
Use the clean command to delete a partition or format a volume from the currently focused disk by zeroing out sectors. By default, only MBR or GPT partition information and any hidden sector information about MBR disks are overwritten. If you specify the all parameter, every sector is zeroed out and all data contained on the drive is deleted.
Seeing this, my heart is half at ease. Clean only clears the partition table, but does not delete data, so I only need to restore the partition table. So I put the dog to search, and found a restorer of the partition table, TestDisk ,
It is said that the first brother is really powerful, and he quickly swept out the partition of the 12TB hard disk. According to the TestDisk Step By Step tutorial, he re-written the partition information into the hard disk. After restarting, he finally saw the 12TB hard disk. In the blink of an eye, it was almost 12 midnight.
Tips:
- When choosing the type of partition table, I chose Intel (that is, MBR) at the beginning, but TestDisk can't always generate a new partition table correctly. Later, according to Liu Qing's suggestion, hard drives larger than 2TB must be GPT. When selecting the partition table type, selecting GPT is successful.
- The recovery process must be calm, search more, and analyze more. As long as the data has not been deleted, there must be a chance of recovery.
