Types of shells supported by linux

pass through

cat /etc/shells file to see that several shells have been installed

[root@dev ~]# cat /etc/shells
/bin/sh
/bin/bash
/sbin/nologin
/bin/dash
[root@dev ~]#

Check the version of bash

bash -version

[root@dev ~]# bash -version
GNU bash, version 4.1.2(1)-release (x86_64-redhat-linux-gnu)
