ubuntu 10.04 cannot be updated after a period of time

Unable to download cdrom://Ubuntu 10.04 LTS _Lucid Lynx_ - Release i386 (20100429)/dists/lucid/main/binary-i386/Packages.gz Please use apt-cdrom, through which APT can recognize the disc. apt-get upgdate cannot be used to add new disks.

There are some index files that cannot be downloaded, they may be ignored, or an old index file may be used instead.


       Solution: Open the terminal sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list
                     and comment out cdrom:[Ubuntu 10.04 LTS _Lucid Lynx_ - Release i386 (20100429)]/ lucid main restricted and save it

 

delete the old update manager

sudo apt-get remove update-manager

Replace the update source I use 163, it's okay

sudo apt-get install update-manager
