IBM V5000 - Password initialization

Storage initialization tutorial.

1. Because there are 2 controllers in the storage, respectively A controller and B controller.

               A control management IP: 192.168.70.121

               B control management IP: 192.168.70.122

Therefore, when we want to connect to the storage device through the PC, we must configure the same network segment for the computer to ensure that they are directly connected. Then take a network cable and plug it into the A controller, connect one end to the controller, and the other end to your PC.

Note: Different controllers have different IP addresses. When you plug the network cable into the A controller, that is, when the IP address is 192.168.70.121, you must also enter the address 192.168.70.121 when you open the WEB interface and log in to the storage service assistant. Otherwise, you cannot log in.

1. We open the browser and enter 192.168.70.121, and the stored service assistant interface will come out.

2. But now we have forgotten the password of our storage service assistant, so at this time we have to reset our storage password with the USB flash drive provided by the IBM manufacturer. Insert the USB flash drive provided by the IBM manufacturer into your personal computer, then open the USB flash drive and double-click the InitTool application.

3. After double-clicking the InitTool program, the following interface will appear. We select the one in the picture to return to the main menu.

4. After returning to the main menu, we choose to reset the V7000 superuser password, and then click Next

5. The following interface appears, the password reset is successful, click Finish

6. At this time, we unplug the U disk plugged into the personal computer and insert it into the USB port of the storage, and then open the browser

      Enter 192.168.70.121/service and press Enter

7. At this time, the storage service management interface has come out, we enter the reset default password passw0rd

8. Now we start to log in to the management IP interface of the storage, enter the address 192.168.70.121/gui and press Enter to display the following interface.

9. Now we start to enter the username and password

      Username: superuser

      Password: 1qazXSW@1234

The management IP username and password here are the same as the service assistant's username and password, and they are unified. Because I have changed the default password of the management IP just now, the password for logging in to the service assistant in the future is also 1qazXSW@1234. After entering your password, click Login

10. The management interface has been successfully entered, as shown below:

11. If we want to add a Raid, click on the second icon from the left and select Pool.

12. After entering the pool, we click Create above to create a new pool. Click to create

13. Then right-click the pool we just created, click Add Storage, click Internal Customization, and then select the raid you want to make at the bottom. Here I want to make raid 10, so I chose raid 10. Then click Assign.

14. After the allocation is completed, we still click the second icon on the left hand side and select the internal memory. We can see that our hard disks basically have an MDisk identifier on them. These hard disks with identifiers mean that the raid has been done. of. Among them, 2 hard disks do not have identifiers because the storage defaults to reserve 2 hard disks for them as hot spares, so we actually only have 22 disks for raid.

At this point, the process of IBM storage password reset and Raid configuration is over, thanks for watching!
