Concepts: Digital Signatures, Traditional Signatures and Authentication

What is a digital signature and how is it different from a traditional signature. What is the difference between digital signature and authentication.

  1. Concept:

  (1) A digital signature is a digital string that can only be generated by the sender of the information and cannot be forged by others.

    This string is also a valid proof of the authenticity of the information sent by the sender.

  (2) Digital signature is the application of asymmetric key encryption technology and digital digest technology.

    Function: Ensure the integrity of information transmission, authenticate the sender, and prevent denials in transactions.  

  2. The difference between digital signature and traditional signature:

  (1) Compared with the physical signature on the traditional paper, the digital signature uses the technology in the field of public key encryption. A set of digital signatures, usually defining two complementary operations,

    One for signing and the other for verification.

 

  3. What is the difference between digital signature and authentication

  digital signature   The algorithm is public and the private key is kept secret. author's identity can be determined
  Authentication   Usually refers to the certification method given to a third-party certification body, and a trusted third-party provides certification services
