How to install IntelliJ IDEA under Windows system

First, go to the official website to download the IntelliJ IDEA executable file: https://www.jetbrains.com/idea/

1

As shown in the figure above, enter the "Download IntelliJ IDEA" page, obviously we can see that IntelliJ IDEA is divided into two versions, namely:

  • Ultimate
  • Community Edition (Community)

Among them, the flagship version is paid, and the community version is free. As for the difference between the two, the flagship version has more complete functions than the community version! If you want to use IntelliJ IDEA for large-scale project development, don't say anything, just download the flagship version; if you just want to experience the fun of development, downloading the community version is enough. But having said that, although the IntelliJ IDEA Ultimate Edition is very expensive, this is not a problem at all in my big China!

Click the link on the right to get the registration code: the popular IntelliJ IDEA registration code, as of January 30, 2018!

Ahem, hereby declare: support the genuine, everyone is responsible (cover your face)! ! !

Closer to home, after clicking "Download", you will enter the following page:

2

Under normal circumstances, the webpage will automatically pop up a download prompt box, as shown in the following figure:

3

Then just "download" it! But there is also an abnormal situation, that is, the webpage does not automatically pop up the download prompt box, so there is no need to worry, we can click the "direct link" by ourselves, and the download prompt box can also pop up, and then download it.

After the download is complete, double-click the executable file, take the blogger as an example, double-click the downloaded "ideaIU-2016.3.5" executable file, and you will enter the "IntelliJ IDEA" installation page, as shown in the following figure:

4

At this step, no doubt, click "Next" to enter the following interface:

5

Here, it needs to be explained that IntelliJ IDEA is installed in the "Program Files (x86)" directory of the C drive by default. If we want to install it in this directory of the C drive, click "Next"; if you want to modify IntelliJ IDEA installation directory, click "Browse" to modify, such as the blogger after modifying the IntelliJ IDEA installation directory, as shown below:

6

As shown in the figure above, the blogger installed IntelliJ IDEA in the "Program Files (x86)" directory of the D drive, and clicked "Next" to enter the following interface:

7

As shown above, the blogger marked two marks. Next, they will describe their functions:

  • Note 1: It means to create a shortcut of IntelliJ IDEA on the desktop. Check this suggestion. Otherwise, every time we start IntelliJ IDEA, we have to start it in the installation directory. Don't you get tired?
  • Note 2: Indicates the associated .java, .jGrooy and .kt files, it is recommended not to check, otherwise we have to start IntelliJ IDEA every time we open the above three types of files, the speed is relatively slow, and if we just want to view the file Wouldn't it be more convenient to open the content with a lightweight editor like EditPlus?

Next, click "Next" to enter the following interface:

8

Select a "Start Menu Folder", don't care about it, we can choose the default "JetBrains" folder, click "Install" to install:

9

So far, we have realized the installation of IntelliJ IDEA under Windows system! As for the next step, whether to choose to run IntelliJ IDEA or end it directly depends on your mood, haha!
