Introduction: As the most professional, high-end, and large-scale industry event in the field of cloud computing open source in China, the 2018 Cloud Computing Open Source Industry Conference (Global Cloud Computing Open Source Conference) is guided by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, hosted by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, cloud computing Organized by the Computing Open Source Industry Alliance. The conference was grandly opened on March 21, 2018 at the National Convention Center. Tencent Cloud TStack won the OSCAR Technology Innovation Award for its strong technological innovation capabilities. In order to understand the value and core advantages of TStack, we conducted an exclusive interview with Wu Peijun, product director of Tencent Cloud TStack of Tencent Technology Engineering Group.
Wu: TStack is a private cloud usage scenario born in Tencent. It summarizes the company's own years of actual operation and maintenance experience, combines technical capabilities, and produces a product that has been verified by actual operation. It is a product that can integrate IaaS, PaaS and SaaS into one. comprehensive cloud service solutions. It is a secondary development based on OpenStack, and a lot of optimization and independent innovation are carried out on the open source platform. At the same time, TStack has a lot of experience in privatization deployment, and has the characteristics of high stability, unified management, and visualized operation. Governments, enterprises, and various organizations with private environment requirements build a stable and secure cloud environment and a healthy cloud ecosystem.
Wu: At the 2018 Cloud Computing Open Source Industry Conference, Tencent Cloud TStack won the OSCAR Technology Innovation Award, which is the industry's affirmation and recognition of Tencent Cloud TStack. TStack is a secondary development and technological innovation on OpenStack, which mainly includes the following aspects:
1. Heterogeneous compatibility: Within Tencent, due to the early use of cloud computing technology, a large number of different types of virtual machine platforms have emerged, such as XEN and KVM. How to seamlessly manage these virtual machines into the OpenStack platform is a huge problem. challenge. In order to meet business needs, TStack has carried out a large number of customized development of OpenStack that meets business needs through a large number of development and testing. Under the condition of complete service interruption, the 6000+ hosts of the original platform are seamlessly migrated to the TStack platform. Wu: 1. Massive operational experience: TStack is deployed and used internally on a large scale. While satisfying its own needs, it constantly polishes its products. At present, it has been running internally for more than 5 years, with more than 12,000 hosts, serving many product lines of Devnet and internal IT, and has accumulated a lot of product operation experience, which can provide customers with the most real case reference based on facts;

Open and compatible architecture: Based on open source OpenStack, secondary development is carried out on the basis of ensuring interface specifications, with multi-platform compatibility, providing third-party development and access support, and facilitating subsequent expansion; due to the OpenStack technology system, in There are a large number of developers and users around the world, which will be very beneficial to the operation of customer products and the cultivation of partners.
3. Rich PaaS ecosystem: By cooperating with the company's multiple products, such as: big data, TDSQL, Blue Whale, TOF, etc., TStack is integrated with these paas services, and the company's products are packaged and exported to form a product synergy , to customize the cloud service platform that is more perfect and more in line with their own needs for customers.
Wu: 1. Internally: The private cloud deployed by TStack covers 4 regions (Shenzhen, Shanghai, Tianjin, Chengdu), 7 computer rooms, and 14 clusters. Currently serving 300 business lines in Devnet and IT online environments.
2. Externally: Tencent has signed cooperation agreements with more than 15 provinces and more than 50 cities across the country to export TStack's capabilities to governments and enterprises, and has successfully implemented more than 30 projects, such as Yunnan Police Cloud, Xiamen Municipal Affairs Cloud, Guangzhou Municipal Affairs Cloud, Sichuan Provincial Government Affairs Cloud, etc.
3. In the open source community: The TStack team actively participates in community activities, shares its own experience, and has received a lot of praise and recognition. In 2017, Tencent joined the OpenStack Gold Membership, and also won the only award of OpenStack Superuser; subsequently, it won the only best user of hybrid cloud in 2017. This time, it won the OSCAR Technology Innovation Award again.

Wu: 1. Accumulation of a lot of experience: Tencent itself is a company with very high requirements for IT services. As a private cloud product for self-use, TStack has been running stably for many years. During this process, it has accumulated a large number of usage scenarios and solutions for these different scenarios. These accumulations are a very valuable experience reference for external governments and enterprises. Integrating these experience summaries through a complete private cloud solution to form a model that can be quickly replicated will help our customers to reduce detours and reduce costs. trial and error cost;
2. Enriching PaaS services: In my opinion, in the form of private cloud services, at the level of IAAS in the future, the basic indicators of different manufacturers may not be too different, and even if there are differences, they will be quickly caught up. I think the difference in the future will be mainly reflected in the PAAS level. As one of the largest Internet companies in China, Tencent has accumulated a lot of mature PaaS services in the course of so many years of development. These PaaS services will directly constitute the market. A relatively high threshold, if it can form a joint force with IAAS, it will be a very competitive comprehensive solution for private cloud services.
Wu: Tencent TStack has built an exclusive cloud platform for the Xiamen Municipal People's Government, and provided a complete cloud security solution during the BRICS leaders' meeting to escort the BRICS meeting.
