Summary of the use of proxy arp proxy ARP

1) Proxy arp replaces an interface in the subnet to respond to the ARP request, as shown in the figure

2) Proxy arp cannot replace other interfaces in the same network segment to respond to arp, as shown in the figure

The problem is that Target1 has 2 identical routes (motfcc1 and motscc1) both pointing to the 172.23.171.0 network. According to the IP routing policy, the data sent to 172.23.171.x will use motfcc1 instead of motscc1, which will prevent Target1 from sending ARP to Target.
