The InnoDB storage engine was developed by Innobase Oy and later acquired by Oracle. Since MySQL 5.5 version is the default storage engine.
InnoDB supports ACID transactions. Provide row lock design, support MVCC, foreign keys, consistent non-locking read. The main application is OLTP system, which has the characteristics of high concurrency and fast response.
