Since the DMS went online, the inherent defects of the traditional IT architecture have gradually been exposed in terms of infrastructure: hardware generally faces gradual aging and elimination after 3 to 5 years. From the overall point of view of the enterprise, IT investment is difficult to keep up with the pace of business development. Even if virtualization technology is used, it cannot solve the ever-increasing business demand for resources, and the scalability is always limited within a certain period of time. Therefore, King Long cooperated with Alibaba Cloud to host the DMS infrastructure on Alibaba Cloud.
Network : service capabilities reach the world
As an enterprise with customers all over the world, King Long has strict requirements in terms of network access, and requires the enterprise's service capabilities to be able to reach the world. DMS serves 1,031 domestic service stations, more than 451 overseas service agents, more than 100 spare parts suppliers, more than 10 spare parts central warehouses, and more than 2,000 user operations. Alibaba Cloud's domestic BGP multi-line access and global backbone network can just meet this demand. The DMS is hosted in the Alibaba Cloud South China backbone computer room, which well meets the access rate requirements across the country; a transparent proxy node is set up in Hong Kong, and foreign users outside Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and Africa can access the DMS through the proxy node. In this way, users all over the world can access the DMS at a relatively stable and high-speed rate.
Hybrid cloud : stable and cost-controlled
As the best transition form for enterprises to migrate to the cloud, hybrid cloud needs to connect the off-cloud computer room with the cloud platform, because there is a need for mutual access between the applications that have been first migrated to the cloud and the applications or data left in the off-cloud computer room. In the testing phase, we chose the VPN plan, and after finalizing the plan, we chose the high-speed channel.
The VPN solution is implemented based on Alibaba Cloud VPN gateway products. VPN gateway is an Internet-based product that securely and reliably connects the off-cloud computer room and Alibaba Cloud VPC through encrypted channels. Compared with high-speed channel dedicated line access, VPN has the advantages of low investment and simple implementation. Before connecting to the dedicated line, as a test and verification environment, it is very suitable to choose a VPN solution, and without any fixed investment, the cost of 20Mbps bandwidth is only more than 2,000 yuan per month.
Elasticity : Uncapped and resilient IT capabilities
In a non-cloud environment, capacity must be provided based on a presumed theoretical maximum peak, which can lead to under-resource situations in emergency situations. With cloud computing, you can dynamically scale to meet actual demand and only pay for the resources that are actually used.
On the cloud, IP addresses, servers, databases, storage and application components can be instantiated in seconds, transforming from traditional fixed IT infrastructure to flexible IT infrastructure. This will change the way capacity estimation, resource planning is done.
Operation and maintenance: higher level of operation and maintenance management
In addition to cloud hosting, you get a wide range of storage, database, analytics, application and deployment services. Because these services are immediately available to DevOps staff, operational complexity and learning costs are reduced, thereby reducing reliance on in-house expertise and enabling faster delivery of new solutions.
Alibaba proposed the concept of "data-based operation and maintenance", which is also profoundly reflected in Alibaba Cloud's products. Alibaba Cloud has launched many products designed to provide data-based operation and maintenance means, such as cloud monitoring, application performance monitoring (ARMS), log service, EDAS eagle eye, etc.
Among them, cloud monitoring is completely free. It can not only monitor the cloud products that have been opened, but also monitor the sites under the cloud, and can also realize business-level monitoring.
Security : Built-in security capabilities
In terms of security product system, Alibaba Cloud has mature products ranging from the host, network layer to application and data layer. From an internal perspective to an external perspective, protection and monitoring systems are deployed to make external attacks ineffective and make internal weaknesses inescapable. The security products under the cloud belong to single-point attack detection and prevention, while the security products on the cloud are linked to trigger various layers of protection systems for interception and defense, malicious IP identification, and second-level synchronization with the cloud platform for comprehensive blocking and interception. Alibaba Cloud's security products can be summed up in three sentences: "Fortify everywhere, link the entire network, and take the initiative to attack."
