How to Modify Static IP Address and Dynamic IP Address

In layman's terms, static IP is to assign a constant IP address to your computer, and dynamic IP is to assign an IP address to you randomly by the router; the advantage of static IP is that the connection is stable, such as connecting to WiFi in seconds (in fact, general and dynamic Almost), and dynamic IP is simple, users can connect to other LANs without setting, but when there are many people, there may be IP conflicts and can't connect. So which one is better depends on when. Below I will tell you how to convert static and dynamic IP addresses. Take win8.1 as an example.

  1. Find the "Network" icon on the desktop, right-click, and click "Properties"

  2.  Find "Change adapter settings" in the upper left of the new window, click

  3.  Find the network you are currently connected to in the new window, because I am connected to Ethernet, so click the right mouse button "Ethernet", and then click "Properties" (other networks do the same)

  4.  Scroll the mouse wheel in the new window to find "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)", note that it is 4 not 6, then double-click

  5.  Finally, we came to the window for modifying the IP address: if you want dynamic address assignment, click the first option "Obtain an IP address automatically", and then click OK; if you want static IP address assignment, click the first option Two "Use the following IP address", then see the next step
  6.

  7.  The "IP address" option is to fill in the IP address you want, generally in the range of 192.168.1.2 to 255; the subnet mask is generally 255.255.255.0, which depends on the router, so it may be other; The default gateway is the IP address of your router, usually 192.168.1.1. The following DNS server is filled with the address of the local DNS server, and the other one is reserved.
