Office failed to open, The file is corrupt and cannot be opened

Recently, I received feedback from a user that the following error message " The File is corrupt and cannot beopened. " pops up when opening an excel file in SharePoint .

During the troubleshooting process, it was found that the main reason was the problem of the settings of the Office Application .

 

It can be solved by the following steps:

  1. Click on File->Options

  1. Click " Trust Center tab " in the pop-up settings page, click " Trust Center Settings " in the detailed settings

  1. Click the Protected tab , uncheck all three options listed, click OK to save
