EMQ officially became the highest-level member of OASIS, leading the standardization and application of IoT protocols

Recently, the world-renowned non-profit open source and open standards organization OASIS (Organization for the Advancement of Structured Information Standards) announced that EMQ, an open source IoT data infrastructure software provider, has become its latest Foundational Sponsor. This is the highest membership level of the organization. EMQ will become the only two highest-level member units in the world together with IBM, which means that in the future, EMQ will participate in the life cycle of open standards related to the Internet of Things to the greatest extent. Jointly promote the formulation, development and application of relevant standards.

OASIS Foundational Sponsor

As an authoritative international open source and standards alliance with global influence in various industries, OASIS is committed to promoting the fair and transparent development of open source software and standards through global cooperation and the power of the community, and leading the standardization development process of various industries. So far, it has provided global standards recognized by law and widely used in international policy and government procurement for many content technology fields such as Internet of Things, network security, blockchain, cloud computing, urban mobility, and emergency management.

Since EMQ joined OASIS in 2020, it has provided strong support for the development of the MQTT protocol standard, the most widely used message transmission protocol in the IoT field, and has also been highly recognized by OASIS. Guy Martin, Executive Director of the OASIS Open Organization, said: "EMQ has been actively working on cutting-edge technologies such as MQTT over QUIC and has worked together with our subordinate MQTT Technical Committee to standardize it. EMQ's generous support demonstrates their commitment to advancing We sincerely thank them for their commitment to the development of the MQTT protocol and related open standards, and admire their contributions to the open source and IoT industries."

As a leading IoT data infrastructure software supplier, EMQ launched EMQ X, an open source distributed MQTT message server compatible with MQTT 3.1 and 3.1.1 protocol specifications, as early as 2013 . After MQTT became an open standard of OASIS in 2016, EMQ also participated in the development and discussion of the MQTT 5.0 specification, making MQTT 5.0 an IoT communication protocol with more complete features and industry needs. At the same time, EMQ also participated in the standardization process of MQTT 5.0 as a voting member. As MQTT 5.0 was incorporated into the official standard by OASIS, EMQ also released EMQ X v4.0 in 2020, which is the world's first MQTT 5.0 message server that fully implements the latest specification. It can be said that EMQ has always been at the forefront of the industry, paying close attention to the technological development in the field of IoT, and at the same time deepening the understanding of MQTT and the industry into product development, providing MQTT protocol products that meet the dynamic needs of the industry.

Li Feng, founder and CEO of EMQ, said: "We are very pleased to be the Foundational Sponsor of OASIS and join the MQTT Technical Committee. EMQ has carried out many innovative explorations for MQTT message server products, including MQTT over QUIC and MQTT stream processing, and we hope that these It can become part of the MQTT open standard in the future. We look forward to closer cooperation with OASIS to further promote the application of the MQTT protocol in IoT industries and scenarios, provide enterprises with future-oriented IoT solutions, and help drive digital transformation of enterprises upgrade."

About OASIS

As one of the world's most respected non-profit open source and open standards bodies, OASIS promotes the fair and transparent development of open source software and standards through the power of global collaboration and community. OASIS is home to global standards for IoT, cybersecurity, blockchain, privacy, cryptography, cloud computing, urban mobility, emergency management and other content technologies.
