LXQt is an open source, lightweight desktop environment that is a merger of the LXDE and Razor-qt projects. The LXQt team recently announced the new features and features of LXQt 1.1, which will be released soon.
menu layout
In this release, users can experience two new application menu options. They are Compact and Simple. The Compact menu options are narrow and less wide than Simple.
directory menu
Second, the look and feel of the catalog menu has been improved with added styling options, as shown in the image below.
GTK
The GTK-style menu in the skins has been moved to a separate settings window for better accessibility.
Improved default settings
- The LXQt team has also improved some user experience in the default desktop behavior settings. For example, the main menu search cleans itself up when the user opens the desired app. This change reduces the need to press backspace to delete the last search item.
- The new version also reduces the width of the taskbar buttons.
- LXQt 1.1.0 also changes default wallpapers, icons and themes
- Shortcuts to Home, Network, Computer, and Trash are now placed on the desktop.

Some small but impactful features in native LXQt desktop applications improve the desktop experience. For example, the default file manager PCmanFM-Qt shows "Recent Files" in the file menu. Also, when you click 'Show in Folder' after downloading in Firefox/any browser, the downloaded file will be selected in PCmanFM-Qt.

The battery icon in the system tray has also been improved in LXQt 1.1.0. Now users can have three new battery icons showing battery percentage and remaining time. This change improves overall usability.
