Backend-as-a-Service provider Appwrite raises $27 million

Appwrite is an end-to-end Backend-as-a-Service (Baas) platform. Announced today that they have raised $27 million in Series A funding. The Series A round was led by Tiger Global Management, with participation from seed investors Bessemer Venture Partners, Flybridge Capital Partners, Ibex Investors and Seedcamp. The Series A financing will be used to expand the Appwrite team, increase investment in product development, and support the open source community.

Appwrite works on web, mobile and backend. Appwrite simplifies the complexity and duplication of building modern backend APIs from scratch with a visual interface and allows developers to build secure applications faster and easily integrate their applications with user authentication and Multiple login methods are integrated. It includes a database for storing and querying user and team data, storage and file management, image processing, cloud capabilities, and more.

Appwrite also raised $10 million in its previous seed round, bringing its total funding to nearly $40 million. Since its seed funding round, Appwrite has introduced real-time capabilities, a native software development kit (SDK) for Android and iOS, and major upgrades to existing services.
