GitHub Copilot now supports Visual Studio 2022

GitHub Copilot is a tool launched by GitHub in June last year, which uses machine learning technology to provide code suggestions and code completion to developers. Now GitHub Copilot officially landed in Microsoft's Visual Studio 2022 in the form of an extension.

When GitHub Copilot launched last June, it only supported Visual Studio Code and provided support for the Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, Ruby, and Go programming languages.

GitHub has since continued to improve GitHub Copilot based on user feedback, and to expand the number of GitHub Copilot users and the platform on which it can be used. At the GitHub Universe 2021 developer conference late last year, GitHub updated Copilot with support for Neovim and JetBrains IDEs, the latter of which includes IntelliJ IDEA and PyCharm.

According to GitHub data, Visual Studio 2022 is currently the IDE with the highest voice in the community, and because of this, GitHub Copilot now officially supports Visual Studio 2022.

Like using GitHub Copilot in VS Code, if developers want to install and use GitHub Copilot in Visual Studio 2022, they also need to register for GitHub Copilot and wait for official approval ( registration address ).

After obtaining official approval, users only need to go to Extensions > Manage Extensions in Visual Studio 2022, search for GitHub Copilot to download and install.
