The East China Cup Undergraduate Mathematical Modeling Invitational Competition (also known as the "East China Cup" Mathematical Modeling Competition) is a competition initiated by the School of Mathematical Sciences of Fudan University and organized by the East China Mathematical Modeling Alliance. Over the past 22 years, this competition has been continuously improved in scale and influence. It has become an intercollegiate communication competition for dozens of key universities in East China and even across the country, and enjoys a high reputation among universities across the country. The competition attracted students from Fudan University, Zhejiang University, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Nanjing University, Renmin University of China, Sun Yat-sen University, Wuhan University, Tongji University, East China Normal University, Southwest Jiaotong University, etc. from all over the country.
The purpose of this competition is to stimulate students' enthusiasm for learning mathematics, expand their knowledge, improve students' comprehensive ability to analyze problems independently, establish mathematical models, use computer technology to simulate solving practical problems, and write papers, and encourage young students to study in basic and applied disciplines Introduce the old and bring forth new ideas, enhance students' understanding of the value of mathematical science theories and their applications, and strengthen the connection between mathematics and economics and finance, computer, electronic engineering, biology, physics, chemistry and other disciplines, promote teaching and education reform, and cultivate students' creative spirit And cooperation awareness, enhance students' awareness of science and technology innovation and team spirit, and lay a solid foundation for students to go to the society and serve the society in the future.
Competition topics generally come from the fields of engineering technology, management science, social and people's livelihood, etc. After appropriate simplification and processing of practical problems, participants are not required to master in-depth professional knowledge in advance, but only need to have knowledge of basic mathematics courses in ordinary colleges and universities. The questions have greater flexibility for contestants to be creative. Contestants should complete a paper (ie answer sheet) including model assumption, establishment and solution, calculation method design and computer implementation, result analysis and test, and model improvement according to the requirements of the topic. The main criteria for the competition awards are the rationality of the hypothesis, the creativity of the modeling, the correctness of the results and the clarity of the text. The evaluation of the final papers will largely take into account the innovative ideas of the contestants, and for creative ideas, special awards will be awarded based on the opinions of the jury panel.

Awards setting
根据比赛评审情况，设特等奖、一等奖、二等奖、三等奖。特等奖奖金每队1500元，一等奖奖金每队1000元，二等奖奖金每队500元，三等奖奖金每队300元。提交完整参赛作品但未获得以上奖项的队伍将发放成功参赛证书。
Evaluation method
由本届华东杯大学生数学建模邀请赛组委会负责邀请专家评审。
Competition Rules
1、参赛对象必须为在校大学生，选手以队为单位参赛，每队不超过3人，专业不限；
2、为鼓励团队协作精神，不建议单人参赛；
3、参赛论文必须尚未在任何刊物上正式发表，否则一经发现，按舞弊处理，取消参赛资格并通报选手所在院校；
4、试题共三题，选手选择其中一题完成一篇数学建模论文。
5、选手答题必须参照论文格式规范（见附录）。
