C4D Quick Start Tutorial - Boolean Operations
C4D version R24
Made a busbar sample, which is commonly used on development boards. Just make one and copy it later. There are multiple Boolean operations used in this. So if you have friends who don't know how to use it, you can take a look.

- Multiple Boolean Operations
what is boolean operation
Boolean operations are logical mathematical computations that symbolize numbers, including union, intersection, and subtraction. This logic operation method is used in graphics processing operations to generate new shapes from simple combinations of basic graphics. And from two-dimensional Boolean operations to three-dimensional graphics Boolean operations.
In C4D, it's even easier.
Create objects A and B.
Select [Subdivision Surface] [Boolean] on the toolbar
, and place A and B under Boolean "Layer". The Boolean mode is AB.
Multiple Boolean Operations
Careful friends may have posted it, sometimes a Boolean operation can't get the effect you want, and it may take a few more times. You can do this at this time.
AB We have done the Boolean operation to get a graph. This graphic also clips C.
Simply put, AB is regarded as a whole, and the same way can be used to create a Boolean layer.

PS: The main use is Boolean operations. If you don't need it, you don't need to look at the specific process. The above knowledge points are all finished.
-
Measure the information of the mother row
, we use the information of the single row mother, and you can copy it later -
Build A model: length 0.254cm width 0.25cm height 0.85cm
-
Chamfer it (you may not do it)
-
Build model B with a length of 0.102, a width of 0.102, and a height of 0.9 (slightly higher than A)
-
Center the two objects (change XYZ in their coordinate system to 0)
-
perform boolean operations
-
It is basically formed, but there is a small groove on the lower part that has not been made.
So go ahead, create object C, x=0.8cm y=0.102cm z=0.04cm, move under object A (as long as you can make a groove, it doesn't need to be too thin)
- Continue boolean operations, pay attention to the location!
The groove is out.
- I won't talk about the pin arrangement, try to see if you can understand the picture~.
