Film Review (1): "Parasite" South Korea (2019)

Why write a film review

Why do you suddenly remember to write a film review?

In fact, I have my own careful thinking- forced thinking , punished perfunctory , and practiced writing .

Human nature is laziness, and laziness is the most essential driving force that promotes social productivity. The other is that the pace of this society is too fast, so why don't we bother to stop and think, for fear that once we stop, we will lag far behind others. Thinking requires the brain to actively process some information, instead of just passively accepting information like entertainment. In most cases, it rarely mobilizes the active attention mechanism of your brain. However, thinking is a very important thing. Constantly experiencing different things allows us to constantly refresh or deepen our understanding of the language of the elderly, for example, Confucius once said: Learning without thinking is useless, thinking without learning is perishable.

This is the best time and also the worst time. More and more new tools allow us to access massive amounts of information anytime and anywhere; but in the face of the information tsunami, how many people can truly ride freely without being burdened? We are greedy like babies, sucking desperately, even if there is only a finger in our mouth. I am also a member of the tsunami, and I don't want to drown out my consciousness. I think so I am. This is the first reason why I want to abuse myself.

Another reason is: I have always had a dream of writing novels. I read a lot of books on how to write in college, and the "knowledge points" in the book about writing skills have also been blurred. But the more essential points about "how to write" have always caught my heart:

  • The root of writing is the desire to publish ; just like speaking, you have some savings in your chest and don't vomit or feel unhappy;
  • Writing is the embodiment of one's own worldview , don't force yourself to write words that you don't agree with;
  • Don't feel sorry for the character you have created, let all the logical contradictions and conflicts smash him.

I want to write a novel, and I have tried it a few times. It feels very bad when I face the screen and my fingers are glued to the keyboard. I concluded that my self-worldview is not clear enough, and my understanding of things is on the surface. Simply put, I need to think more. If you think too much, your opinions about the world will become clear, and the desire to express will naturally come.

One sentence answer: I want to force myself to think, enhance my perception of the world, build my own worldview, and complete my dream of writing.

I think what a good movie should look like

  • A good movie will be like a magnet, it will have a strong reaction with my heart. Many hidden emotions, cognitions, and behaviors are all surfaced at this time; (the desire to publish)
  • A good movie will give me a strong feeling that it is a person with his own thoughts ; (self-view of the world)
  • A good movie will make you fall into the plot, can't help but feel distressed for the characters in it , extreme dilemma, and turn around. (Contradictions and conflicts)

Everyone's criteria for measuring good movies are different. The above are just my personal criteria for measuring good movies. Don't be true to the audience.

Film review text-parasites

Seeing the title, I thought it was a disaster movie. The first few Korean disaster films were well shot, such as "The Invasion of Ironworms" and "Travel to Busan". After downloading it, I clicked a few places and glanced at it, and found that it was not a disaster movie, so I didn't have much interest in watching it. I find it harder and harder to calm down and watch movies. This film lay on my hard drive for three months. The rating of this movie is quite high, so think about it.

Before watching this movie, I didn't read the film reviews or read the introduction. When the first official shot of the film came out, I still felt that it was a story of disaster caused by parasites. Soon after the beginning of the story, when a family of four was chatting in the basement where they lived, a group of disinfectants were spraying disinfectant water, and when the mist rushed into their homes to make them cough, I felt at ease for a moment-it was really a disaster for talking about parasites. sheet. Haha~~~ Haha

However, it is not. The protagonist of the story is a family of four, father, mother, Jiyu (male lead), and younger sister. The four vagrants can be said to be the bottom of society. Half of the dwelling house is underground and half is on the ground. Jiyu failed the college entrance examination several times, and his classmates have already started college. As his classmate Min Hyuk wants to study abroad, he specifically asked Ji Woo to take over his tutoring job. Min Hyuk also bluntly said that she is a girl who likes tutoring, and he was afraid that other tutors would take her away, and that only Ji Woo could reassure him. However, it is not.

The story unfolded layer by layer when Ji-woo passed the interview of the girl’s mother and officially became the girl’s English tutor. Corresponding to the protagonist’s family is the girl’s family. I live in a large house designed by a famous architect, with a large yard. Just like Jiyu sighed: It feels good to see the sky while lying at home.

The family uses methods: Ji Woo arranges his younger sister to be the art psychotherapist for the girl’s younger brother (by means of a painting by the girl’s brother); younger sister Ji Ting makes the girl’s father (President Park) drop the driver and let her father be President Shang Park’s driver; the family made plans to ask the girl’s mother (Mrs. Park) to remove the nanny, successfully allowing her mother to become Mrs. Park’s nanny. A family of four perform their duties in the home of President Park, but their public identities are strangers who do not know each other.

Actually, I can't bear to use parasites to describe this family of four. Dad’s car really drove steadily (except that the body smells a bit big), Ji Woo’s English is also good (but it’s a bit too much to talk about love with the girl during homeschooling), and my sister Ji Ting is really talented (just No use in the right way), mother is an honest person. However, after the three characters of the movie's translation of the name "Parasites", it became clear to me that the four members of this family are parasites. On the other hand, I think they are not inexcusable. I think this is a good part of this movie-there are no heinous characters, and everything you do is forgivable. Is it wrong for the unemployed to want a job? Is it wrong for the rich to want to spend some money for peace of mind?

When good things are placed out of your reach, you will worship him, and you will admire him as a god. When you have the opportunity to come into contact with them, you will have many other ideas, and you will have hatred. Why can't I have them? When a family of four were performing their duties in President Park’s house, everything seemed to be orderly and orderly. When a strange mentality was fermented in the hearts of the family of four, gas was constantly being produced, and the family of four It's dizzy. A good outlet for this gas is the few days when President Park's family was going out to celebrate the birthday of the younger son. A family of four tried their best to make themselves like the original owner of the house, drinking, taking a bath in the bathtub, based on lying on the lawn outside the house and reading the girl’s diary... all this is just what they think of themselves It's like the owner of this mansion, but what we see is nouveau riche. For a moment, I felt sorry for them. They came into contact with what they had dreamed of—the feeling of being rich, but they kept reminding themselves that this was just a dream, and they soon woke up. At this moment, the mentality of a family of four has risen from solving work problems to being a rich man who can afford to enjoy this mansion. What can satisfy people's desires? It is definitely not satisfaction itself. Desire will continue to rise. It will give you a stimulant along the way, making you constantly chasing with excitement, without fatigue.

I think this is the main body of the story.
