[Chinese Scholar Style] Cong Jingsheng is a chair professor at the University of California, Los Angeles, director of the Special Domain Computing Center and director of the VLSI Technology Laboratory. Research interests include electronic design automation, energy-efficient computing, customized computing for big data applications, highly scalable algorithms and quantum computing. Graduated from the Department of Computer Science and Technology of Peking University in 1985; received a PhD in computer science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1990; was hired as a chair professor of Peking University in 2000; and was elected a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers in 2001; In February 2017, he was selected as a member of the National Academy of Engineering. On November 22, 2019, he was elected as a foreign academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering.
