Clean up the useless junk files on the C drive and slim down the C drive

Recently, due to the research of some background software, I downloaded a lot of things. One day I suddenly found that my C drive was red and it was about to be full. I studied it and made a record.

1. Disable system restore

After the win10 system is installed, restore points will be created regularly by default, so that when the system crashes or artificially chooses to restore a certain restore point to the system for the purpose of regular backup and restore, this is his advantage, but the disadvantage is The created restore files are relatively large and will take up a lot of C drive space. It is recommended that those who are familiar with the windows system can close the system restore (of course, if there is a problem, reinstall it).

   Specifically how to close it, you can search for "win10 disable restore" on the Internet. I won't go into details here. After closing, as shown below;

2. Delete unnecessary files

Select storage in the system

Choose to configure storage awareness or run immediately

Choose to clean up now

3. Modify the storage location of temporary files

Choose to change the save location of the new content in the system-"Storage

Save all new applications to other drive letters.

4. Delete unnecessary apps

Select applications and functions in System-"Storage

You can uninstall unused applications.

4. Manually delete files.

Delete all files under windows\temp.

Search all files in the c drive and sort them by size to see if the larger files are useful, you can delete the useless ones, and delete the unfamiliar files carefully. It is recommended to use everything software to search files.

5. Finally, let’s talk about usage habits. Most of our users like to put a bunch of things on the desktop, which is convenient. In fact, this operation is not a good habit. I share one of my methods below, in d

Or create a new folder on the E disk, save the things you originally planned to put on the desktop, and name them any, such as temporary files. Right-click on this folder and send it to the desktop. Just keep this icon on the desktop, as shown in the figure below.

How about it, look concise. When looking for a file first, open which temporary icon is ok.

Of course, my temporary folders are also organized by month, which makes it easier to find things.

The above are some of my experiences. Record here to prevent forgetting! ! !
