In rare cases, virtual machines located on ESXi hosts managed by vCenter Server may become orphaned. These virtual machines exist in the vCenter Server database, but the ESXi host no longer recognizes them, and the virtual machines cannot be powered on.

In vCenter Server, an "orphaned" virtual machine refers to a virtual machine that exists in the vCenter Server database but no longer appears in the ESX host inventory. The ESXi host is offline or inaccessible, the virtual machine configuration file is locked or damaged or contains incorrect options, or other possible reasons.
Three, the solution:
If the virtual machine is in an "orphaned" state, you need to re-register the virtual machine or remove it from the inventory if possible (if it has not been deleted). To re-register a virtual machine, navigate to the location of the virtual machine in the datastore browser, and then add the virtual machine back to the inventory.
1. Right-click the virtual machine and remove it from the list;
2. Add a server manually and find the corresponding file .vmx file in vsan data;
3. Register the virtual machine, put it in the original position, and then it can be used normally after completion.
