[Land Evaluation and Land Management] Case: Suitability evaluation of citrus planting in a certain area

Natural conditions required for citrus cultivation:

The growth and development, flowering and fruiting of citrus fruit trees are closely related to environmental conditions such as temperature, sunshine, moisture (humidity), soil, wind, altitude, topography, and slope direction, and these conditions affect the most important temperature. The growth and development of citrus requires a temperature of 12.5 to 37°C. Citrus has a wide range of adaptations to the soil. Purple soil, red-yellow soil, beaches and tidal flats can grow at a pH value of 4.5-8, with a pH value of 5.5-6.5 being the most suitable. The growth of citrus roots requires high oxygen content. The soil is loose and well structured, with an organic matter content of 2% to 3%. The soil with good drainage is the most suitable. Chinese citrus is distributed between 16° and 37° north latitude, with an altitude of up to 2600 meters (Batang, Sichuan). It starts from Sanya in Hainan Province in the south, Shaan, Gansu and Henan in the north, Taiwan Province in the east, and the Yarlung Zangbo River in Tibet in the west. River valley.

The evaluation process of citrus suitability in this area:

1. Determine the evaluation unit

The plots of the same soil type, land use type, and meteorological data that belong to the same village are divided into one evaluation unit. Through the above method, there are 7 citrus suitability evaluation units in a certain area, and the attribute database of each area is established.
