Download the centos7.6 CD image file, use VMware12 to create a virtual machine, set a fixed IP, the most complete graphic tutorial

table of Contents

1. Download the CD image file (.iso file)

Second, use VMware12 to install centos7.6

Three, configure a fixed IP

1. Download the CD image file (.iso file)

Address: https://mirrors.aliyun.com/centos-vault/

1. Choose the disc image version, it is recommended to choose 6.x or 7.x, here we choose [7.6.1810].

2. Select [isos]

3. Select [x86_64]

4. Select the iso CD image file according to your needs, here is a description of the version:

CentOS-7-x86_64-DVD-1810.iso This version is the standard version, generally you can download this

CentOS-7-x86_64-Everything-1810.iso This version is a full version and contains all the packages of centos7. Although it is relatively large, it will be more useful if you want to make a yum local offline warehouse later.

Other versions are not considered. Here we choose the standard version [CentOS-7-x86_64-DVD-1810.iso], click download and save it locally.

Second, use VMware12 to install centos7.6

1. Open VMware12, click [Homepage]-[Create a new virtual machine]

2. Select [Custom (Advanced)], the next step

3. The default selection, as an understanding, take a look at the virtual machine hardware compatibility. Limitations show: VMware12 can only run a virtual machine with a maximum of 64GB of memory, 16 processors, 10 network adapters, and 8TB disk size. Next step.

4. Click [Browse] to specify the path of the downloaded iso disc image file. The location of the iso file cannot be automatically detected when the virtual machine is created for the first time, and it needs to be manually specified. Next step.

5. Select the image file, click [Open], it prompts [CentOS 64-bit detected], the next step.

6. Enter the name of the virtual machine, the file save location is the default, you can also click [Browse] to modify. Next step.

7. Configure the virtual machine processor. Here is an explanation: the number of processor cores of the virtual machine cannot exceed the number of processor cores of the host machine, otherwise problems may occur.

For example: my host laptop has 4 cores and 8 threads, so the maximum can be created:

virtual machine Number of processors Number of cores per processing Total number of processor cores
study 4 2 8

Here I created the number of processors 1, the number of cores for each processing 2, and the total number of processor cores 2, which is enough for normal learning. Next step.

8. Allocate memory, the general memory is 1~2 times the number of processor cores, and the memory is divided into consideration of the configuration of the host computer. The minimum is 512M, here I allocate 2G. Next step.

9. Select the virtual machine network type. The bridged network automatically obtains IP is the simplest mode.

However, the NAT mode is selected here to facilitate the setting of a fixed IP. Even if the host machine is frequently used in different venues such as companies, homes or even hotels, it will not affect the virtual machine's network, and there is no need to reconfigure the IP. Next step.

10. I/O controller, default. Next step.

11. Disk type, default. Next step.

12. Select the disk. Here we choose [Create a new virtual disk], or use an existing virtual disk or physical disk. Next step.

13. Specify the disk capacity. VMware recommends 20G, I choose 50G, according to actual needs. You can check [Allocate all disk space immediately] to improve performance, but the disk space will be divided at once when the virtual machine is started for the first time. Therefore, it takes a long time to create disk space. If it is not checked, the startup will be faster.

Store the virtual disk as a single file. Although the later file may be larger, it feels more cumbersome to split the disk files into too many files. So choose a single file to save here.

14. Specify the storage location of the disk file, which can be placed on any other disk except the C drive. Next step.

15. Here you can see the information of the virtual machine to be created. Click [Custom Hardware]-remove the sound card, it is useless, [Close]. Check to start this virtual machine after creation. Click [Finish].

16. It shows that the disk is being created, wait for the disk creation to complete, and the virtual machine will start automatically.

17. After waiting for a while, the graphical installation interface of centos comes out. The remaining steps are basically the same as installing the operating system on a physical machine, as follows:

Slide the mouse wheel to select the language used in the installation process, here we select [Chinese]-[Simplified Chinese (China)], and click [Continue].

18. Next is to do some basic configuration. There is a prompt at the bottom: [ please complete the content marked with this icon before proceeding to the next step ], mine has been installed before, so it has defaulted to me to set the previous choices, so there is no icon, let us understand all of them here. The configuration is divided into three modules:

Localization : These can be changed in the system later, just set it as you like. The following are my settings:

Date and time: Asia/Shanghai time zone

          Keyboard: Chinese

          Language support: Simplified Chinese (China)

Software :

Installation source: The local medium is used by default, which is the image CD we downloaded earlier. Click [Finish] directly to save.

Software choice: If you are a novice, the two graphical environments of the server with GUI and the GNOME desktop are good choices and are more friendly. Here we choose the [GNOME desktop] environment. The accessory option of the selected environment, I don't choose it here, it depends on personal needs. The old drivers are basically the minimum installation, because these environments can be adjusted by adding and subtracting software later. Select and click [Finish]

system:

Installation location: here I choose automatic partition, the default is. [Finish] directly to save. If you need automatic partitioning, click here. But in fact, beginners will not feel the difference between the two.

KDUMP: Kernel crash dump mechanism, enabled by default. Direct【Finish】

Network and hostname: Here, modify the hostname habitually to: study. After the network is installed, enter the system and configure again. 【carry out】

         SECURITY POLICY: Security policy, default.

19. The basic settings are complete, click [Start Installation]

20. Configuration. Set the user password, I only set the root password, not other users. Note: The installation has started at this time.

Set root password: Set the root password you like. If the password fails the verification rule check, you need to click [Finish] twice to save.

21. Next, wait for the installation to complete. Click [Restart], no operation is needed in the middle until the restart is completed.

22. For the initial settings, just accept the license. The network will be configured with a fixed IP, and the user will not create it first. Click [Complete Configuration].

23. Successful restart, enter the system screen. Select [Chinese] as the language and click [Forward].

24. Enter. Select [Chinese] and click [Forward].

25. Positioning, depending on personal preference to choose whether to open. Click [Forward].

26. Time zone. Enter [Shanghai] in the box and select [Shanghai, Shanghai, China]. Click [Forward].

27. Connect to your online account, skip it here, and set it as needed later. Click [Skip].

28. About you. Set up a user here, using English. [Forward], then set the password, this password needs to be set a little more complicated, otherwise it cannot be saved.

29. Everything is ready, let's start using!

Three, configure a fixed IP

1. Find [Edit]-[Virtual Network Editor]

2. Click to select VMnet8, the type is NAT mode, confirm the host connection [Connected], close [Use the local DHCP server to assign an IP address to the virtual machine], click [NAT Settings].

3. The NAT settings are as follows: record it, set the IP to use later, [OK].

Subnet IP: Available IP segment of the virtual machine 192.168.44.0

Subnet mask: virtual machine mask 255.255.255.0

Gateway: virtual machine gateway 192.168.44.2

Note: This is my NAT information, yours may not be this.

4. It should look like this in the end. Click [Apply] first, and then click [OK].

5. Open the virtual machine [wired settings] to set a fixed IP

6. Click Settings

7. Configuration details

8. Configure IPv4, change to manual, fill in the network configuration information recorded earlier. Set the IP by yourself, I set it as 200. The mask is 255.255.255.0, the gateway is 192.168.44.2, and the DNS is the gateway, and one more spare general DNS: 114.114.114.114. After the configuration is complete, click [Apply].

9. You can see that the switch of the wired connection has been turned on automatically.

10. Test the network

Click the right mouse button on the desktop, click [Open Terminal], ping baidu.com, it shows that the network is smooth and you can access the Internet normally.

to sum up:

The installation process is relatively simple, the only detail is to set a fixed IP. After configuring the network, it is recommended to take a snapshot, which can be restored when the system is broken.
