1. Preparation
1. Download VMware's virtual machine installation package
Because I am a beginner in linux, there is no need to reinstall the operating system of your computer to linux. Therefore, I suggest that you use a virtual machine to install it to simulate a real computer operating system for us to learn. Baidu cloud disk link needs to be picked up by yourself. 2. Download the Centos image file
Here we can go to the official download of CentOS. It is recommended that the downloaded version does not need to be too high. This article uses Centos 7.2. Because we are beginners, we don’t need to use many things in the higher version of the system, so there is no Need to waste resources. The author provides links to Baidu Cloud Disk for everyone. 2. Start installing the virtual machine
It is more convenient to install virtual machines in windows, which is the same as we install other software. I choose the version of Vmware15 here. You can choose the version according to your requirements.
This interface is opened after installing VMware. Some interfaces will be different because of different versions, and most of them are similar.
Here we choose to create a new virtual machine, click on the new virtual machine to pop up the installation wizard, we choose the typical installation, if you are a technical expert, you can also choose custom. Next, choose the installation source, we choose to install the operating system later, so that we can install the system step by step by ourselves, increasing the significance of learning. The next step is to choose the operating system that needs to be installed, choose Linux, we downloaded Centos 7.2 before the version, and choose Centos 7 for the following version
After clicking Next, choose the location where the virtual machine is installed. You are recommended to install in a directory instead of directly installing to disk D or other disks. If we want to delete the virtual machine, just delete the directory directly. The disk size is 20GB by default. Click to complete our one The empty virtual machine is created. Next, we need to install the Linux system on the virtual machine.
After the virtual machine is installed, as shown in the figure, you can install the linux operating system.
3. Start to install the linux system
As shown in the figure below, first we open the edit virtual machine settings on the left side of the window, find and click the CD/DVD (SATA) option, select the third step to use the ISO image file, and then select Browse to find the linux image file we just downloaded, click OK.
Next, click Open this virtual machine on the left to install, and then it will self-check whether the system meets the installation requirements and enter the real linux system installation process.
The next step is the actual installation of the Linux system installation option operation, the language we can choose English, the author chooses Chinese simplified here, click to continue, we can choose the minimal installation for the software selection, or click to select the server with GUI ( Graphical interface), the installation location can choose automatic partitioning, of course, Daniel can also partition by himself. We click in to open the network and host name, and directly use DHCP to automatically obtain the IP address. The boss can configure it by hand.
Next, we need to set a password for the system administrator. Because the administrator has high authority, we can set any password. When the password is too simple, the system reports an error and we can press OK again to successfully set it. The user can create it or not, according to personal needs.
Click Finish configuration, and the system will start installation.
After the installation is complete, restart it! Use the root user to log in, the password is the password we just set, log in as shown in the figure.
At this point, the linux system is installed. The author recommends taking a snapshot of the system quickly, because in the early stages of learning the system, you need to frequently study how to configure services, which may cause the system to crash. The snapshot is designed to quickly restore the system to the complete system at the time the snapshot was taken. The steps are as follows, click the task bar to select the virtual machine, then select the snapshot, and select to take a snapshot. After the shooting is complete, the next time the system crashes, choose to restore the snapshot!
