Win10 cannot remotely log in to the server, prompting "your credentials are not working" error

1. Manage the server through remote login, but sometimes when using the local win10 system remote desktop server, the error "Your credentials are not working" will be prompted, and the server cannot be connected remotely.

Many friends also have this problem when the user name and password are entered correctly. Anyway, no matter how many times the user name and password are entered, it will not work, so what should be done? Here is a brief talk.

Method one, set up authentication

Open the local computer and start-run-enter gpedit.msc, then open the registry editor, as shown in the following figure:

Then find the menu in turn, computer configuration-administrative templates-credential allocation-allow the allocation of saved credentials for NTLM server Authentication, as shown in the figure below:

Next, select "Enabled" and enter TERMSRV/* in "Display" to save all settings:

Finally, refresh the group policy to make the settings take effect. The method is start menu-run-enter gpupdate /force forced refresh

After refresh, the interface is as shown in the figure below:

Method two, set up Windows user credentials

If the installation of the above method is not successful, you can try this method.

Find the Start menu—Control Panel—Display all control panel items—Find the "Credential Manager" option and open it:

After opening, click the Add Windows New Credential Manager option, as shown in the following figure:

Next, you need to enter the host name of the remote server/ IP address, user name, password and other information, click OK after inputting: After

setting up, you can try to connect to the server remotely. Generally, this problem can be solved basically. If there is a pop-up prompting that the certificate is not trusted, click OK to skip:

The above two methods can basically solve the problem that the server remote login prompts for credentials not to work. If the above two methods cannot be solved, it is recommended that you use a third-party remote desktop tool to connect.
