Energy efficiency level test ERP test lighting products do energy efficiency test

The European Commission formulated the official version of the Eco-Design Regulations (EU) 2019/2020 for light sources and independent controllers on October 1, 2019, which was officially released on December 5, 2019, and will be compulsory on September 1, 2021. Repeal the original regulations (EC) 244/2009, (EC) 245/2009, (EU) 1194/2012, and implement the ErP directive (Directive 2009/125/EC). This regulation sets specific limit values, including: energy efficiency requirements (Energy Efficiency requirements), function requirements (Function requirements) and information requirements (Information requirements).

Scope of application:

1. Luminaires and light sources for lighting (excluding LED chips and LED packages)

2. Independent controller

Revised and changed content:

1. Facilitate the supervision of the committee and the verification of market supervision

2. Reduce the number of samples for compliance test parameters (reduced from the original 20 samples to 10)

3. Reduce the time of the test procedure (aging test is reduced from the original 6000 hours to 3600 hours)

4. A unified formula to calculate the energy efficiency of lighting products.

The regulations do not apply to the following special-purpose products tested and certified:

1. In a potentially explosive environment

2. Emergency use

3. Radiological and nuclear medicine facilities

4. Inside or on military or civil defense facilities, equipment, ground vehicles, marine equipment or aircraft

5. Products on vehicles (bicycles, cars, ships, airplanes, traffic signals, etc.)

6. Medical equipment contained in relevant European directives

7. Products that only use battery power, or solar products

I. The specific content of the change:

  1. Energy efficiency requirements:

A. For lighting products, the new regulations give the concept of maximum allowable power Ponmax.

B. From September 1, 2021, independent controllers need to meet efficiency requirements and no-load and standby power consumption under full load operation.

II. Classification of energy efficiency grades:

From the requirements table, the efficiency requirements for lighting products have been greatly improved! The old standard requires a light effect of 85LM/W-110LM/W, which can basically enter the A, A+ or A++ level, but now it can only be in the F level!

III. Label changes:

1. The supplier name and product model position are different

2. The grade classification is different. Previously: A++, A+, A, B, C, D, E, now: A, B, C, D, E, F, G

3. More QR code

Content of the label:

1. Supplier's name or trademark

2. Product model

3. Energy efficiency grade AG

4. Power loss = power on mode

5. Energy efficiency QR code

6. The energy efficiency rating the product meets

7.Regulation number 2019/2015

  1. Functional requirements:

Compared with the old regulations, the new regulations have slightly changed in terms of power factor, strobe, and lumen maintenance. Other requirements have not changed much.

One point that needs to be elaborated here is:

1. Aging time required by 1194 regulations: 6000 hours (lighting time is 6000 hours);

2. The aging time required by the new regulations: 3600 hours (tested by the switch method, the actual lighting time is 3000 hours).

  1. Information requirements:

The new regulations have more specific requirements for information. For example, for the information requirements on the color box packaging, the size of the effective luminous flux font is stipulated. In addition, in addition to the previously required information, relevant machine and standby functions are also required. Consumption, the ambient temperature of the product, the mercury content in the product, etc.

The 1194 regulations do not make too many requirements for the information of independent controllers, and the new regulations also have more detailed requirements for controller information. Including full-load power, efficiency, no-load power, dimming requirements, and the need to provide a QR code that can find product details.

In addition, for exempted products, there should also be technical documents, such as an exemption report issued by us based on test results or information provided by customers, to describe the exemption of the product

ERP certification process:

1. Fill in the application form

2. Provide product information

3. Send samples (10PCS)

4. Test

5. Report

6. Submit registration

Cost: Evaluate according to the actual situation of the product
