I only understood things after I started working.

The transformation from a student to a professional staff, from one role to another, puts you in front of all kinds of problems that you have not seen before. Some people are gradually consumed by time and are unable to resist; some people struggle desperately until they become indifferent.

Today's article mainly writes about some of the work problems that I encountered after I entered my position, as well as some of the most common problems I encountered during this period of time including chatting with my classmates and the reader's private messages.

1

Let's first look at a private message from a reader.

I only understood things after I started working.

After reading the above-mentioned private messages from readers, I was both happy and sad. What I am happy about is that the average salary of fresh graduates in first-tier cities is only about 7K, and even a lot of squeezed fresh graduates can be dealt with at around 5K.

Obviously, this reader's salary can be considered as good for 8K. After all, fresh graduates should focus on learning opportunities instead of worrying about whether the company can give a few K more salary.

Sadly, I did not recognize my own position and situation, let alone the society. Stress is not a reason for young people to complain, nor is it a reason to restrict their development after work. It is also 8 hours a day. Why do some people have time to recharge themselves?

Fatty is not something that you can eat in one bite. Training institutions can indeed satisfy you, but for a fresh graduate, the high cost does not allow you to do so.

Speaking of this, it suffices to explain a phenomenon prevailing in the current society. Too many people are too eager to get things done, and are impatient. In order to allow you to take shortcuts, some training industry with the slogan of quick start can take advantage.

Overtaking in corners is fine, but not immediately.

In fact, this problem is enough to extend the various problems faced by many fresh graduates. There are some things we can control, some things we can't control, and the things we can't control let it go with the flow, and the parts we can control, try to maximize it.

To be honest, none of us can guarantee that after graduation, we will find a job that we are satisfied with. A large part of it is mixed with luck and opportunity.

After all, not every university has its own correct plan. After all, not every university can successfully counterattack. After all, not every university can know the cruel reality of society in the future.

I found a very interesting phenomenon. Many people read too many "big guys" from various big harvesting companies on the Internet, but they forget who they are and where they are going. I saw my blood boiled over, but when I turned around, I realized how to go or how to go this way.

After talking about these, let's talk about work efficiency and energy. Fortunately, I have to say that from graduation to internship to formal entry, I have never experienced how 996 looks like, but I can feel that 996 is very stupid in the posts of friends and netizens around me. The epitome of robbing the poor and helping the rich.

A company always attributes its honor and achievements to the results of employees 996, so you should be careful. Last weekend, I chatted with a friend from a university and said that my company even set up an overtime award. Whoever works the most overtime in a year can get the award.

I have seen employees who squeeze, and I have never seen such a perverted squeeze of employees. When it comes to 996, I have to talk about why 996 is stupid.

We all know that everyone's daily energy is limited, especially when they are highly concentrated. In my sophomore year, I read a book called "Deep Work". This book mentions that each of us spends an average of 4 hours in efficient work a day, and some famous high-energy people spend 6 hours. This book is enough to tell us that everyone’s energy is limited, no matter how one person does it eight hours a day, there must be extremely low efficiency.

In fact, the most efficient work knows best. Some people are most efficient in the morning, and they will deal with difficult things in the morning. On the contrary, some people are more efficient at night and deal with difficult things at night. And 996, no matter when you are efficient, brothers, give me Gan! ! !

Too TM real!

When it comes to efficiency, I personally had a big misunderstanding of efficiency before. I always believed that high efficiency means more work per unit of time, until I later subverted my perception. Efficiency in physics refers to "useful work/total work", which means that efficiency is not high if you do more per unit time, but high efficiency is the value you produce per unit time.

You develop a feature, what is the value behind this feature, how many users can it affect, and how much value can it bring to users.

At the beginning, I didn't understand the value of demand. I didn't know what value it would bring to users or what it was used for, so I felt that I didn't realize the value of any product. Later, gradually understand and ask clearly what is the value behind this function, what can users bring, the value behind this demand, is it worth your time to complete, or can it be simplified or cut off slightly? demand.

The people who try to make the demand are not awesome, but the talent who can let the product manager cut this demand is really awesome. This may be a contest between the developer and the product manager. Think about it carefully, and you will find that in your development, a lot of man-hours are spent doing seemingly unimportant function points, that is, low-value function points.

Therefore, a lot of workaholics have been born. As long as the product manager has a demand, they don’t ask whether this demand should be spent on development, what is the value behind this demand, and what are the pain points of users. I think this is what our developers lack One point is to always use technical thinking to develop products.

Bugs cannot be corrected, and requirements cannot be completed, but your energy and time are limited. If you want to complete unlimited requirements and bugs in a limited time, you must use your brain to improve the efficiency of unit time.

Consider the value behind each feature point you do and what the user’s pain point is, whether it’s worth the estimated man-hours to develop this feature point, don’t challenge to use brute force to complete your work, let alone be a workaholic, I'm tired of tossing myself.

From the perspective of the company, the biggest cost is manpower. Calculating whether a project is profitable or not and how much money can be made according to the total working hours of development really depends on the efficiency of the employee per unit time.

If a system is developed, most employees are doing negative work, that is, spending a lot of man-hours to develop functional points with low business impact, and in the end, it will lose money. The efficiency of a person does not represent the profitability of the company, but the efficiency of a team determines the business operation and profitability of the entire company.

Sometimes employees work overtime as a whole to make the company run faster, but "fast" is not necessarily "good". This speed may make the company "die" faster. Therefore, a person can run better and farther only if they maintain good physical strength.
