I believe you all know that SOLIDWORKS Toolbox standard parts library provides you with many standard fasteners. But the icon of Toolbox standard parts is different from the icons of SOLIDWORKS common parts, it is associated with the database of SOLIDWORKS itself. When copying the model to others, it is easy to cause the problem of Toolbox attribute change, which causes the size of the standard part to change.

Today, we will introduce a method to change the properties of Toolbox parts to ordinary parts, so that the size change can be avoided.

First browse to the following location on the computer: installation disk\Program Files\SOLIDWORKSCorp\SOLIDWORKS\Toolbox\data utilities, and find the executable program sldsetdocprop in it, as shown in Figure 2.

This program is designed to change the properties of Toolbox parts. After opening this program, select the Toolbox file or folder that you want to convert to a common part, set the "Property Status" to No, as shown in Figure 3, and then click "Update Status".

Note: During the update process, the updated file cannot be opened.

After conversion, you can click "Show selected properties" to view the Toolbox properties of the file. If it shows (IsToolboxPart)=No, the update is successful, as shown in Figure 4.

(Feelings of use: This method can not solve the problem of automatic restoration after toolbox parts are modified. You can refer to another article: "Standard parts modified by SolidWorks will be restored after the assembly is saved", portal https://blog. csdn.net/sinat_38295192/article/details/106723570 )
