WeChat adapts to domestic operating system: natively supports Linux

According to  ZOL reports , Tongxin Software officially announced the launch of a WeChat desktop client compatible with Tongxin UOS, and said that the WeChat version is a version that natively supports Linux and supports domestic CPUs such as Godson, Kunpeng, and Kirin.

It is reported that Tongxin UOS version of the WeChat desktop client is developed by Tencent and has been adapted to the Tongxin UOS professional version. It also supports AMD64, ARM64, MIPS64 and other instruction set architectures, as well as Godson, Kunpeng, HiSilicon, Mega CPU platforms such as Core, Haiguang, and Feiteng can realize the native experience of one-click installation. The report stated that "this version of the WeChat client is the native Linux version."

Tongxin UOS is an operating system based on the Linux kernel, which was developed by Tongxin after the acquisition of Wuhan Deepin Company based on the Deepin system. Just last month, Tongxin disclosed that it has completed the adaptation of commonly used mainstream Windows applications in UOS , including WeChat, QQ, Sogou input method, 360 series software, Kingsoft WPS, Dingding, Digital Reader, Foxit Reader etc.

For various reasons, Tencent has not released a WeChat version that is natively compatible with the Linux system (there is a Linux QQ beta version that is updated only after 10 years  ). Commonly used software such as WeChat and QQ under Linux distributions including Deepin usually use Based on  the cross-platform version of Wine  or other similar virtual machines , there is a big gap between the performance and the operating experience of the native version.

In any case, if the WeChat UOS version released this time really supports Linux natively, it is undoubtedly good news for the development of the domestic Linux-based operating system ecosystem.
