Pr: Video anti-shake effect

If the video is a little jittery, consider using the anti-shake effect control to remove the jitter and make the picture smooth.

There is a built-in anti-shake effect control in Pr, called "distortion stabilizer", in the "video effects/distortion" folder in the effect panel.

You can also use third-party effect controls. ProDAD Mercalli is a professional anti-shake control. It also supports Pr, Ae, Vegas, Media Composer, Edius and other video processing software.

Deformation stabilizer

Warp Stabilizer

Generally speaking, after selecting the clip to be stabilized, click the "Analyze" button and wait a while to get a better anti-shake stabilization effect.

Tip: The deformation stabilizer effect in Pr requires the clip size to match the sequence settings. If the clip does not match the sequence settings, you can nest the clips and then apply the deformation stabilizer effect to the nest.

Deformation stabilizer control property description

Analyze

After adding the effect, it will usually be automatically analyzed.

Stabilization

Used to control the expected effect of the material.

--Result: Smooth motion Smooth Motion, maintain the normal motion of the original camera, but make it smoother; No Motion, try to eliminate all camera motion during shooting.

--Smoothness: Specify how much the original camera motion should be retained during the smooth motion process. The lower the value, the closer to the original motion of the camera, the higher the value, the smoother.

--Method: Including: position, (position, zoom, rotation), perspective, subspace deformation (default), etc. If the material is deformed or distorted too much, you can select "Position, Scale and Rotation".

--Keep zoom

Borders

Adjust how to handle borders (moving edges) for stabilized material.

--Frame: Default: stable, crop, auto zoom. If you want to know how much work the stabilizer actually does, you can choose "Stability Only".

--Auto zoom: display the current auto zoom amount, and allow setting limits on the auto zoom amount.

---Maximize zoom

---Active Safety Margin: If it is a non-zero value, a border will be specified around the edge of the image that is not expected to be visible.

--Additional zoom: Use the same result as using the "Zoom" property under "Transform" to enlarge the clip, but avoid additional resampling of the image.

Advanced

--Detailed analysis: When using this option, the generated data (stored in the project as part of the effect) will be larger and slower.

--Jelly effect ripple: automatically eliminate the ripples related to the stabilized jelly effect material. If there are occasional wrinkles and distortions, and the material was shot with a jelly effect camera, you can select "Enhanced and Reduced".

--Less cropping<-> More smoothing: If the result is over cropped, you can select this option.

--Synthesis input range (seconds): Control how far the compositing process goes backward or forward in time to fill in any missing pixels.

--Synthetic edge feathering: select the amount of feathering for the synthesized segment.

--Synthetic edge cutting

---Left, top, right, bottom

--Hide warning bar: Use this option if you do not want to reanalyze the material even if there is a warning banner stating that the material must be reanalyzed.

Mercalli Stabilizer

No matter what kind of motion picture, no matter what kind of camera shooting any material, do you expect your picture to be more stable and smooth, this is the reason why this third-party control appears.

After installation, this control appears in the "video effects/proDAD" folder in the effect panel, and generally includes two controls, CmosFixr and Mercalli. Generally, only the Mercalli control is used. If you use these two controls for a clip, make sure that CmosFixr is above Mercalli.
