On October 20, the "5G SA Network-based Distribution Network Relay Protection Demonstration Project" jointly tackled by China Unicom Hebei Branch and State Grid Hebei Electric Power Co., Ltd. passed the acceptance of the expert group led by Academician Shen Guorong of the Chinese Academy of Engineering , Marking the official commissioning of China’s first "5G+Edge Computing" power protection IoT demonstration project based on 5G SA (Independent Networking) architecture.

The project adopted the ZTE Chuangke Pioneer No. 2 DTU and Pioneer No. 2 Dongle terminal products (built-in 5G modules customized by Fibocom for China Unicom). After the commissioning and efforts of all parties, the product performance completely reached the poor power. According to the needs of the industry, the relay protection function can be realized under the 5G SA network. It also fully proves that Fibocom's 5G module is leading the 5G SA demonstration project.

The power distribution network relay protection demonstration project is a pioneer project of the digital active power distribution network in Xiongan New Area. It relies on the ultra-low latency characteristics of the 5G SA network and 5G+MEC network, and cooperates with the Huawei network side, the wireless side, and NARI Instruments. After a month of unremitting efforts, such as the front-line R&D personnel, continue to optimize the performance of all products to ensure that the project fully meets the needs of the power differential industry. Fibocom technically supports front-line personnel to analyze and optimize the air interface interaction processing between 5G communication modules and base stations on the spot; assist end customers in solving communication module integration communication experiment optimization; cooperate with the customer monitoring center to optimize communication strategies, and finally ensure that the project is on schedule Failure delivery.

In the 110kV Aowei power supply area in Xiong'an New District and the Jiangzhuang and Linhe power supply areas, a wireless and digital upgrade "model room" for power distribution network power equipment has been successfully built, realizing the "plug and play" of new energy and mobile loads And high-speed automatic recovery from power failure, core technology innovation has reached the international leading level. Significant breakthroughs have been achieved in three aspects: the first domestic 5G+MEC environment deployment application of the SA architecture power demonstration project, the first domestic demonstration application of adaptive differential protection for distributed source loads "plug and play", the first domestic realization Demonstration application of high-speed collaborative self-healing control across multiple voltage levels. The project is also a benchmark project for the "strong alliance" to jointly implement the national digital economy strategy and the "digital new infrastructure" task. In the future, Fibocom 5G series modules FG150(W), FM150(W), FG650 will continue to empower the power industry application scenarios, deepen cooperation with end customers in the field of 5G new infrastructure, and help more end customers to commercialize 5G on a large scale Project landing.
