Record a little white's journey of learning Blender from scratch
This article is based on Blender 2.82a version
Just started to learn, after understanding some of the shortcut keys of Blender and the meaning of the basic view window, I started to learn basic modeling. Then at station B, I saw a video of the big guy teaching 5 minutes to make hair, so I started to learn about hair making. It's really easy. So I will record my learning process, consolidate my memory, and summarize the knowledge points by the way
first step
Create a path curve and a torus curve (Add->Curve->Torus/path curve). After creation, the two curves will overlap and appear at the 3D cursor, which is often the zero point of the coordinate axis. You can press the shortcut key to Gmove them to separate the two, and then the path curve will rotate 90° along the X axis to facilitate subsequent operations.
Second step
Select the path curve, and find the object data attribute on the right, click Geometry Data -> Chamfer -> Object. Select the torus curve you just created, and then you will see that the path curve becomes 3d.
third step
Click on the path curve and press to Tabenter the edit mode, select the nodes you want to move, and then Gmove those nodes to create the shape you want. The torus curve will reflect the change of the path curve in 3d in real time, both Combine and pinch out the effect you want.
the fourth step
TabExit the editing mode, click the torus curve that has changed greatly, then press to Tabenter the editing mode, click the radius on the left (shortcut key Alt+ S) and move the mouse to change its shape.

the fifth step
In fact, the fourth step has basically been completed, this step is just to explain some scattered things.
For example, after the hair model is completed, it is best to divide it into layers and put it into a new collection, which is easy to manage. There is also Shift+ Dcan easily copy the hair to make the hairstyle you want, but be sure to copy in the object mode. If you copy in the edit mode, blender will treat the copied object as the original object. Look at the same object. When moving, the original object and the copied object will move together.
In addition, if you think gray objects sometimes look very laborious, you can select the material properties on the right, create a new material property, and choose a color you like under the view display column, which will feel pleasing to the eye.
At last
Let's put a haircut that I roughly pinched. It only uses one shape of hair, which looks pretty fun. If you read this self-study note by chance, I hope it can help you or make you interested in blender modeling. Blender is really easy to use. It is a good free and open source modeling software.
