However, the storage capacity of a floppy disk is extremely small, generally only a few MB or even a few hundred KB. It is enough to save a picture now, so it will soon be replaced by a hard disk with a larger storage space, and the name of the drive letter But it has been retained and used.
Although the capacity of mechanical or solid-state hard drives on computers has been greatly improved compared to floppy disks, in daily use, friends often encounter the situation of insufficient hard disk capacity, right?
Especially the C drive as a system disk, system restore/update files, virtual/configuration files, registry, and cache or junk files generated when the software is running, etc., will be kept on this disk, and will be affected by various The documents are full.
However, cleaning up junk files on Disk C is not as simple as other disks. If files are deleted by mistake, a series of problems such as computer or drive failure to start will occur if the files are not kept properly.

Many people may not have noticed that the Windows 10 system is actually the same as the Android phone. It comes with a garbage cleaning function, which is convenient for us to clean up the disk space simply and quickly.
Directly hit the two shortcut keys Win+i on the computer keyboard, and the main interface of the computer settings will jump directly.
Click on the system option in the upper left corner to enter the system settings, and we will find a storage option in the options.
It shows the current space utilization of each disk of the computer.
Choose C drive to enter, the system will scan the entire drive and tell you what types of files are occupying the space.
It's similar to the storage space displayed on the mobile phone.
Generally, things in temporary files can be deleted directly. Just select various temporary files such as thumbnails and click Delete.
You can figure out the files in other options such as desktop, documents, pictures, etc. You should delete the files that should be deleted, and transfer the files that should be transferred.
For example, in the option of apps and games, you can uninstall some software that you don't use often.
Of course, Windows also gives you a function intimately here.
On the storage page, there is an option called storage awareness. After opening it, the system will automatically clean up temporary files to free up space after a certain period of time (optional duration).
By the way, you can change the "More Storage Settings" option under Storage Sense.
Don't always save files, such as documents, music, etc., to drive C when downloading things. It is also a good choice to change the default save location of new content to another drive letter to ease the space on drive C.
After these steps are completed, temporary files ranging from a few gigabytes to as many as tens of gigabytes can be easily deleted in this way. You can also do this for several other disks on your computer.
If it releases such a poor capacity, friends still feel a bit of a drop in the bucket.

The virtual memory on the C drive also takes up a bit of space, so it is better to put it on other disks with larger space.
Move the cursor to "This Computer" on the desktop, then right-click to select properties.
In the pop-up control panel, select "Advanced System Settings"-"Advanced"-"Settings"-"Advanced"-"Change" to enter the virtual memory setting interface.
After customizing the size of the virtual memory, click the settings below and click OK. After the computer restarts, the virtual memory transfer is complete.
This is not enough, there are still many patches that have not been cleaned up.
Everyone knows the urgency of Windows. In addition to the forced update suddenly, there are many bugs that need to be fixed by patches.
C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download This directory contains the previously downloaded patches.
Copy the address to the index bar of the computer and press Enter to open it. All the files in it can be deleted directly. You can delete it with confidence. The installed patch is useless.
If it does not work, you can also transfer the space of other disks to the C drive, because the expansion of the C drive requires the use of a third-party disk partitioning tool, which is not detailed here.
In addition, we usually drive QQ on WeChat and third-party applications such as Xunlei, and most of the downloaded pictures, videos and other files are stored in the C drive by default.
In order to prevent it from filling up so quickly, you can change it in the settings of the respective applications and save it to other disks on your computer. You can also clear the chat history if you don’t mind.

Of course, if it is not too troublesome, format the entire C drive and reinstall the system; buy a larger capacity hard drive and use GHOST (mirror clone, that is, backup) to copy the original C drive files to the new hard drive. .
