Shanghai Tengke Education Dream Database Training and Dry Goods Sharing Use the new version of DEM tool in DM8 for data migration

In the previous article sharing, we introduced that you can use the DEM tool on the web side to manage and monitor the Dameng database. Now with the update of DM8, the function of DEM has also been greatly enhanced. Today we will talk about how to use DEM for web-side data migration.

1. Environment deployment

The DEM environment construction method can refer to " Remote Web Management DM7 Database-DEM Construction Chapter ". After the version update, the environment needs to be rebuilt, and the SQL and WAR packages that need to be used are in the web directory of the DM8 installation directory.

2. Data migration

After the environment is set up, use the default user password admin/888888 to log in to the system, and you will find that there is an additional migration tool in the list column on the left compared to before.

Click on the migration tool, create a new migration, and set a project name

After confirming, the supported migration methods will be listed

Here we can see that we can use the DEM tool to migrate between DM databases and between mainstream databases and Dameng databases. It should be noted that both DM7 and DM8 use the DM option for migration. Here we take the migration from Oracle to DM8 as a test, and select Oracle==>DM.

Input the connection information of the source oracle and destination dm8 respectively

Next, you can choose whether to migrate data by a certain SQL statement or a data object in a certain mode. On the right, you can select the type of data object. Here we migrate the HR instance database in ORACLE to reach the dream.

Choose a specific migration object

As you can see, all objects were successfully migrated. And using DEM, we can connect to the DM library for testing.

Data can be queried normally in Dameng. At the same time, we can also use the management tools of DM8 to query.

This is the whole process of data migration using DEM. In the follow-up sharing, we will also introduce how to use DEM tools to deploy and build a cluster, so stay tuned~
